Role: Farmhand ($22/hour + lots of free farm veggies)
Full and Part time work available! (Full Time = 30-40 hours/week, Part Time = 10-25 hours/week)
Come work with us on the Farm this Summer!
-Full time roles will be involved in most or all aspects of the farm: greenhouse work and plant propagation, bed preparation, seeding and planting, cultivating, weeding, harvesting, post-harvest washing and packing, etc. Part time roles will most likely have a more narrowed focus, like harvesting and post-harvest processing.
-Prior farming experience is preferred, but not required! Motivated individuals can quickly learn the basics of organic farming. This role could begin as early as late March or as late as early May and continue to early November. Work schedule would generally be Monday-Thursday, 8-10 hours per day including a lunch break of 30-45 minutes each day. Start times will vary based on the season and tasks for the day. There are also opportunities to help with Farmer's Markets, wholesale deliveries, and CSA pickups.
Farm work is often idealized and romanticized, but it is hard and physically demanding work. It will challenge and humble you. Though in our opinion, there is no line of work more fulfilling, inspiring, and fun than growing food.
Ideal Candidates:
-Are reliable and hard working
-Are athletic and quick with their hands
-Are self motivated with a good sense of pace and urgency in task completion
-Work well with people of all types in a small team setting
-Are comfortable working in all weather conditions from Spring through Fall
-Can maintain a a good, light hearted attitude even when challenging conditions arise
*Willing to consider a farming couple to fill two spots*
